The high forest is very steep, there are places where a man can't walk, nevertheless the trees are grounded. The high forest has a timberline, behind which - further up - only rocks and stones are to be found. The high forest has a special kind of density: in most places you can't see through the undergrowth if you look straight ahead. Where it is really steep, you can see the next treetops. Peter Solf
